Over 40 Years of Excellence

Pepe’s Towing Service was established in October of 1978, by Jose and Delfina Acosta, with one tow truck converted from a standard Ford 350 pick-up truck. In the early days, Pepe’s Towing Service served the community of Los Angeles and quickly earned the reputation of providing prompt and honest service at a reasonable price. As the business grew, Jose Jr. and Manuel followed in their father’s footsteps by taking an interest in the towing business.

In March 1987, Jose Jr. and Manuel became full-time employees bringing renewed energy and fresh ideas. The second Acosta generation developed an ambitious business plan to expand the area they serviced while maintaining the reputation of quality and reliability built with hard work by Jose and Delfina.

In May 1989, Lorenzo Navarro joined the Acosta brothers and became an integral part of the company. Together they expanded and continue to grow the reputable company as it is known today.

By 2015, Pepe’s Towing Service, Inc. employed over 90 employees and had a fleet of over 80 trucks, ranging from light to super heavy duty, with specialized equipment to provide vehicle recovery in a variety of situations. With yards located in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Their clients now account for 20 policing agencies, California Department of Transportation’s Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), business accounts and private vehicle owners. With significant combined towing experience behind them, Jose Jr., Manuel and Lorenzo continue to provide successful leadership.

Pepe’s reaches 43 years in business with no signs of slowing down. They continue to grow their fleet and most recently are finally part of the San Bernardino PD rotation, adding to their extensive list of different police agencies they serve. Pepe’s has most recently focused on their newest program, private property impounds. This program has generated much volume in impounds. Pepe’s is in the beginning stages of developing their state-of-the-art building that will become the primary hub of operations.

Joe, Manny, and Lorenzo are still very much active but are slowly but surely stepping back as the next generation have shown interest in continuing the legacy. Joe’s oldest and only son Joshua has fueled a passion for heavy-duty towing and recovery with his own millennial twist by creating a Pepe’s YouTube channel. Today the channel has over 2 million views with an audience worldwide. Manny’s oldest daughter Laura is the director of the human resources department for the company and plays an active role in social/ political events.
